Rituals and objects are not requirements for this work. Crystals can be appreciated for their beauty and their energy, while recognising that the ability to work is already within us. Giving that power to an object can create the feeling that a tool is necessary before anything can happen.
Patrick Zeigler's experience: “I have never been especially attracted to a lot of rituals. I love crystals, but ever since I was a child, my collection was more about their beauty. At one point I began selling crystals. I had a distributor in another country and would receive large barrels of amethyst and other stones. I was aware that crystals have energy and can do things, but what I discovered was that we have that ability ourselves.
“If I already have the ability to do certain things, what happens when I give that power to an object? In many forms of shamanism, there are feathers, crystals and other things to work with. It can become, ‘I have to have a tool to do this.’ I started to notice how easily we can be manipulated.
“When I was selling crystals, I realised that if I wanted to sell one, I could manipulate people. Someone would come up, feeling very intuitive, and scan all the crystals. I would have a beautiful crystal, a particularly distinctive piece. In a way they are all one of a kind, but this would be a special piece. I could hold it out and say, ‘If you're scanning, why don't you scan this?’ Every time, they would buy it. I would say it was my special one.
“But with the energy work I do, and the results I see, I realised I do not need crystals. I do not need anything. I do not need to smudge or do any of that. I see incredible results. I am using the word ‘I,’ but I know it is not ‘I.’”
The distinction is not simply between using an object and leaving it aside. It is also between believing that you must make something happen and discovering that you do not need to do anything. There is no need to carry out a particular activity in your head or visualise something. The work can happen naturally.
