Question: After the work in a one-to-one session, the person returns to their life and the same world they came from. How quickly does energy that does not serve them begin to come back? What advice can help them keep the energy clear and flowing?

The first step is awareness. Begin to notice how you react to the person who triggers you, the person you may think of as an asshole. This applies to anyone, not only to one particular relationship.

When someone can trigger you, there is a gift in that. The person you consider to be the problem is showing you where your vulnerabilities are. What matters here is how you react to what they are doing. If there is no trigger there, there is not going to be a problem in that same way.

Some people know particularly well how to trigger you. Former partners can be very good at it. Children know how to do it, and so do family members. Often, these reactions come from early conditioning.

For example, difficulties with a mother may involve not feeling worthy or not feeling heard. That pattern can carry into other relationships. Unconsciously, you may marry someone who brings up exactly the same trigger. It can be like marrying your mother, perhaps in a male form. If you somehow bypass that pattern in a partner, you may encounter it through your children.

The point is to wake up and recognize that these people are showing you what needs attention. Perhaps there is an issue of worthiness, along with anger about how your mother treated you. Rather than healing it, you move away from her and get out of her life. Then you marry someone who gives you exactly the same lesson, until you get it.

Awareness brings the recognition: “Okay, I got the message.” Living with that willingness to get the message means these situations need not bother you in the same way, and you will not attract them as much.
