Teachings of Patrick Zeigler.

Is it necessary to go through suffering or an intense emotional release in order to awaken? No. An opening can happen without that kind of experience. Yet the answer also depends on what is being held inside and on the response to seeing someone else release trauma.

Watching one person move through an intense release may bring resistance, while watching another person experience bliss may bring the wish to have that experience instead. The process is different for everybody. What looks like trauma from the outside may be understood differently by the person going through it.

The distinction is between not needing a particular experience and strongly resisting it. If another person’s release brings judgment, repulsion or a strong feeling of being triggered, then that resistance is itself something that needs to be processed. In that situation, going through the release is connected with what is already being held inside.

Without releasing or processing what is held, how can the bliss or the void be fully experienced? And how can someone come out of that experience without still carrying the same baggage? A wish for bliss does not, by itself, resolve what remains unprocessed.
