Sharing: Energy, Form and the Spiritual Path

Sharing: The experience was unexpected, like a flash flood.

When the mind does not know how to perceive energy, it gives the energy a form. Waves, oceans and flash floods are ways it can describe the experience of energy flowing.

We are energetic beings. We are energy, and the soul does not necessarily have a form. Yet because we see one another and want to recognize one another, we give that energy form. Each person has a unique, recognizable form.

In a dream or a spiritual experience, the mind still wants to work with form. It attaches forms to flows of energy. After working with the energy for a while, it may become possible to perceive it as energy rather than giving it another form.

Patrick Zeigler’s lucid-dream example: “When I become lucid in a dream, it usually begins with a world similar to this one. I am still in the form of this world. Then I say, ‘Okay, I want to fly,’ and I begin to fly. It is like Superman. I still have my body, but I am flying, which is a wonderful experience.

“But I do not really need the body. I can become an energy form. I can simply be energy and identify myself with that energy. Then, when I go to see people, I can see them in their forms, or I can see them as their energy.”
