Sekhem: Trauma Processing, Relationship Conflict, and Somatic Regulation in All Love | class teaching, Sekhem All-Love title artwork

This teaching guides the movement from an honest desire to receive, through direct awareness of bodily feeling, into the deeper wound beneath relationship conflict. It offers ways to let anger and protective boundaries move through the body, then return to sound, stillness, belonging, and All Love.

Begin With What You Want to Receive

Receiving begins with an honest question: What would you like to receive? There may be an unknown aspect, but usually the mind has some sense of what it wants from a class or from a period of life. Begin with the wish list and ask for the number one thing. Imagine that the wish could be granted. What would it be?

For one participant, the answer was, “To know what to do.” That answer opened a deeper feeling. She had made many decisions in her life, including decisions about moving, and now felt stuck. She did not know which direction to take or whether to go alone or with someone. The inquiry became more specific: if there were a choice, would she want to do this alone or with another person?

The wish was still to know the best choice. At this point, allow the possibility that whatever is chosen can be the correct thing to do. There is no need to divide the decision into a right choice and a wrong choice. The difficulty may be connected with trying to find the one perfect decision.

The question then moved toward relationship. Was she wanting to live by herself and follow her own path, or was she looking for a relationship or partner? She already had a partner, a deeply loving man who gave her the love and priority she had prayed for. Yet, several years into the relationship, she was still not well and did not feel happy. She wondered what was wrong with her, and how she could fail to be well with someone who brought her so much love.
